Octavia Spencer purchased a Toluca Lake Home in Los Angeles.
The Academy award-winning actress bought the 1,714-square-foot home for only $841,500. A Los Angeles real estate less than $1 million could not be considered a primary resident for a celebrity, but Spencer seemed to be modest with her choice of home.
Built in 1927 with Spanish-inspired design and a modest size, it features hardwood floors, white wood-framed French doors and windows, vintage tiles, a beautiful vine covered veranda and patio connecting to a large grassy yard. It is also described as a single family residence with three spacious bedrooms, two bathrooms, a massive basement and a large formal dining room.
It is nestled in a great location – blocks away from the Toluca Lake boutiques and restaurants on Riverside Drive.
Spencer received both Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Minny Jackson in the 2011 film adaptation of The Help.
The 41-year-old actress recently starred in the latest flick Fruitvale Station, a low-budget biography drama also starring Michael B. Jordan. Fruitvale Station is a 2013 independent Sundance film released in theaters last July 12. It was based on a true story of Oscar Grant who was killed by transit police in Oakland, CA on New Year’s Eve four years ago. Spencer played the role of Grant’s mother, Wanda Johnson.
